I saw the following happen before my very eyes this afternoon: I was driving home from work, along US 36 from Boulder to Westminster, CO when I looked up to see a VERY bright shining object in the sky. It was before the cloudline in my line-of-sight, and it's brightness was quite star-like. I slowed my vehicle to a safe enough speed and took a hard look at the object through my windshield. It was like a star shining 2-3,000 feet from the surface of the Earth. VERY bright. About 10 seconds after my first glimpse of it, before my eyes, the light dimmed and the object slowly morphed into a black/brown 'plane' that then slowly eased off towards the east. I say 'plane' because it was just a very common, small, single-engine craft that was totally black/brown. No identifiers on it at all. The 'plane' flew out of view within about 2:30 from my first sight of it. How does a burning bright, star-like object simply become a fixed-wing, single-engine aircraft!?
